Dear readers,
Greetings
I feel happy to announce that there is a four-fold increase in the number of manuscripts being submitted to the editorial office of Indian Journal of Dental Research (IJDR). At the same time, it is surprising to note that the manuscripts submitted from the speciality of orthodontia are very less in number. This is disheartening considering the fact that there are numerous institutions in the country with enough members of the teaching faculty guiding postgraduate students in the speciality of orthodontia. I request the faculty members of orthodontia to concentrate actively on publishing their work in IJDR.
Indian Society for Dental Research (ISDR) was founded in the year 1987. This is the only dental multidisciplinary organisation, dedicated to promote dental research in our country, with a reputed indexed journal, the IJDR, publishing articles on active research. Even after 18 years of the genesis of this organisation, the number of members stands at a dismal 450. I humbly request practising dentists, members of the teaching faculty and postgraduate students to become members of this reputed association and enhance dental research in India. I also request the existing members to actively participate in enrolling more members for the association.
with regards,
